The newest version of Xopero ONE – 1.8.5 introduces a range of significant changes and improvements that clearly address the users’ needs. As an advanced solution for backup management and data protection, Xopero ONE is constantly evolving to provide the highest possible level of security along with efficiency. Let’s take a look at what the update brings to the table.
Xopero ONE Standalone Agent
We are introducing the Standalone Agent (Rescue Stick), a bootable solution from a USB drive that allows for backing up servers and endpoints without network access. It’s a perfect tool for crisis situations where every single minute counts. SVSCreator, which supports the creation of the Xopero ONE Standalone Agent, is available for download here: Download Xopero ONE Standalone Agent.
New look of the organization dashboard
In this newest version, the organization dashboard has been completely redesigned. The Plan section is clearer, which simplifies the management of chosen resources – physical devices, Microsoft 365, Hyper-V, VMware, and all DevOps data. Moreover, upgraded support for screen resolution means that using the tool from different devices will now be more convenient.
New features and optimizations
The update of Xopero ONE’s software is not limited to cosmetic changes. Several significant functionalities have been added, and the existing ones – optimized.
Configurable S3 buffer size
While creating or editing any backup plan, the user now has the ability to configure the size of the S3 buffer. Thanks to this, the communication with AWS S3 data storages is more adapted for the needs of specific backup plans. Regardless of whether you are making copies at the file level, for images, Hyper-V, VMware, or Microsoft 365, full configuration flexibility guarantees optimal performance of backup processes. The users can now manage resources more precisely and adjust configurations to their infrastructure.
Improved task queueing
Xopero ONE fixed the issue with invisible tasks in the background that may have been a cause of ineffective process management. Now, all tasks, even the conflicting ones – such as deleting and restoring data from the same storage – are clearly visible as queued tasks. What is more, these tasks are always executed in the appropriate – descending order. This gives the users full control of their processes and the ability to easily monitor the progress.
Better validation of webhook URIs
Validation improvements have been introduced when entering the webhook addresses into the management console. Parameters like quotation marks, parentheses, exclamation marks, or asterisks are no longer accepted, which helps to avoid incorrect address validation.
Performance optimizations
At Xopero, we constantly work to improve the performance of our flagship software. In the latest version, we have optimized several key processes that consumed large amounts of system resources. We placed particular emphasis on optimizing RAM usage. Processes that required significant memory have been optimized, allowing for more efficient management of hardware resources, especially in large IT environments.
Better management of AWS S3 storage
Version 1.8.5 introduces key enhancements in processing data related to AWS S3 storage usage. Users that take advantage of S3-compatible data storage can now monitor and manage space even more easily, which allows for more precise resource planning and the elimination of unnecessary costs.
Improved support for Hyper-V backups
One of the key updates is the fix of the issue related to the inability to auto-clean up snapshots after unsuccessful Hyper-V backups. In the past, if a backup failed, the snapshots were not automatically deleted, which could lead to unnecessary space being used up on the hypervisor server. With the latest update, even after a failure, the cleanup process is now triggered automatically, and this allows for more efficient management of disk space.
Support for Azure DevOps backup
With the release of version 1.8.5, Xopero ONE and GitProtect.io for DevOps backup both support backup for Azure DevOps environments. This means that our solution supports all leading Git hosting service providers. Similar to backups for GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket, Xopero ONE allows to cross-restore to and from Azure DevOps. Users can secure Azure DevOps organizations (SaaS) and Azure DevOps Server (On-Premise). For more information regarding Azure DevOps backup & disaster recovery, visit GitProtect.io.
The new version of Xopero ONE reflects another step towards providing the best possible data protection. Optimized processes, better visibility of tasks, flexible configurations, and enhanced performance make the software even more user-friendly and reliable. The purpose behind this is meeting the most demanding data protection scenarios across various IT environments.
